Nóg mense sal volgens Mangaung Metro Munisipaliteit se burgemeester, Gregory Nthatisi, na Lourierpark gestuur word.
Dit terwyl die huidige grondbesetters teen die einde van jaar na die Mountain View-gebied verskuif moet word.
Volksblad berig Nthatisi het glo die uitlating tydens ‘n toesigbesoek gemaak.
Alhoewel nie Nthatisi of die munisipale bestuurder, Sello More, nog op navrae hieroor gereageer het nie, sê DA-LPW, Dave McKay, hy het nie ‘n probleem dat nog mense op die stuk grond oorkant die Windmill-Casino woon nie – maar dan moet die stuk grond in lyn met die wet op ruimte beplanning en grondgebruikbestuur, as ‘n nedersetting verklaar word.
Hy voeg by die mense wat tans daar woon moet onder baie slegte omstandighede klaarkom.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) firmly stands for housing dignity as outlined by South Africa's Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act (SPLUMA) and the constitutional right to a healthy living environment, as established in the Bill of Rights (1996).
Unfortunately, the Mangaung Metro has chosen to waste valuable resources circumventing these laws rather than effectively utilising available conditional…
The article in Netwerk24 misquoted and misinterpreted what I said and was retracted and since been rectified.
This is a perfect example of ‘lost in translation’
I said, “In as much as the ‘invaders’ are illegally occupying the area and MUST be relocated - they must be relocated to an area inline with SPLUMA. Whether they are ‘relocated’ back to the same area is irrelevant as long as it is a legally declared township establishment with infrastructure as mandated by SPLUMA - example: Vista Park”
This does not mean that I am in favour of more illegal occupiers (grondbesitters) to be brought there. It means that once the area has been properly developed it can be populated.
